Nero vs Roxio

How does Nero compare to Roxio? Both version 6. Can Roxio do everything that Nero can do. I already know that Roxio's drag to disc is much superior to Nero's InCD, but what about the rest of the package? Thanks.

95% of the people here prefer Nero. Take a look at the activity in the Ahead forum as opposed to that in the Adaptec/Roxio forum.

I have tryed Nero and was using it but it never worked right with my Optorite drive, wont format cdrws it locks up. tryed redoing many things even to reinstalling windows and putting it by itself. it just wouldnt work right. the CD buring I like and it worked flawlessly as does Roxio. But I use roxio as i put it in and it worked I use 6basic and it does everthing I need it to do with cdrw. Its perty much what you prefer. Nero is very capable burner, Roxio is the same but for me D2D works fine!. that is why i stick with roxio.

I sometimes have bsod reboot probs with nero. So when that happens i use adaptec. Otherwise i use nero. At the moment i have the prob with the IC7 max 3 board

I just found out that its the raid drivers that come with the motherboard that game me the prob. So updated them to later version and not rebooting no more

I have decided to stick with Nero 6 and so far it is working well. Even InCD4 is working now, although I am finding that I may not use it much.

Hi guys,
So we have started Nero X Roxio again?
I guess that Roxio is okay for any new beginner.Nero allows total control over burning process.I have Roxio 6 and simply love it.I have Nero 5.5 and I have not yet upgraded to Nero 6 because it's demo never worked for me.
Also D2D is much much better than Nero InCD,as it performs flawlessly and you can use it with CD-R's too,though I doubt anybody using CD-R for packet writing.
And Slim,there arent any problem's with Roxio software,so why bother to post nonexistant problems?

Well i actually like roxio as well. Nothing wrong with the prog as far as im conserned. I just use nero. Both progs are pretty good. Just like nero just that bit more

I, and I believe many others, have been frustrated with InCD.

Yesterday, I decided to order Easy Media Creator 7.

As I run a multiboot system, I'll run the Ahead software in one boot system and the Roxio stuff in another boot system.

I'm not courageous enough to put them both on the same boot system, especially InCD and Drag2Disk.

I am primarily interested in CD-RW, so if Drag2Disk turns out to be better than InCD, I'll dump InCD.

you shouldn't put both InCD and D2D on the same system. that's asking for trouble.

I installed Easy Media Creator 7 on one of the boot systems on my multiboot system. Perhaps, I'll jinx myself, but so far, EMC 7 looks very good, especially Drag2Disk vs. InCD.

I did raise a few technical issues at Roxio's EMC 7 forums, only 1 of which might be significant.

So far Drag2Disk wins over InCD.
The EMC 7 EasyWrite Reader works with my CD-ROM drive. Ahead's EWR 4 does not.

I also llike the fact that Roxio has online forums to which they actively respond.

Yes,Drag To Disc is more mature and complete than InCD.And yes,the staff at Roxio responds actively in their forums.They resolved the issue that I faced with EZCD 5 Plat. a long way back.

How does Roxio 6.x compare to Nero EXPRESS 5.5.x in terms of just plain 'ole burning ability to DVDs? I want to archive 200 gigs of data with my NEC 2500 and I'm wondering if there is a real difference or not really so long as they work? Also, how come DAO is greyed out using Roxio?

Nero 5 is a bit outdated.

Nero 6 is latest product.

Roxio 6 is not latest version. Easy Media Creator 7 was released last month.

I agree with you.I use Nero 5.5.10.54 with Roxio EZCD 6.I want to upgrade to Nero 6 and EMC 7,but I will wait for time being.

well isnt there a limit when making mp3 cd's with nero? 99 songs? but with roxio there is not one

Then is no limitation to 99 when creating an (iso9660) mp3 disc. There is a CD Audio specification limitation to 99 tracks. But do you really want to have more than 99 tracks on a ~80 minutes Audio CD?

The correct comparison would be between Nero 6.x and Roxio 7.x since those are the current versions of each. I own and use both, but I use only Drag-to-Disc for packet writing since I could never get InCD to work correctly for any length of time. I have to admit, though, that I haven't tried it for several versions, preferring to stay with something that worked.
