How fast is too fast?

lite on 166s dvd ripping

im using dvddecrypter and its ripping only at 5x-7x. is this normal?

are you sure DMA is enabled?

Actually, that sounds about right for a dual layer DVD - those read much slower than a single layer DVD. Single layer will rip up to about 16x. Dual layers usually half that, at best. It'll start slow, get faster, then slow down again after it hits the layer break.
