411s unrecognized as burner in 2 diff burn sw progs! Help!

I can read from my 411s, but neither NeroExpress 5.5 or InstantCD/DVD (argh, horrible software) see my ldw-411s as a burner. I read someone else post a similar issue, but not a detailed fix description. Can some one give me a pointer? I am running XP SP1. My 411s is upgraded to FS0F and is seen by Winblows and reads just fine.

Get the latest version of Nero and InstantCD.

Not to question you Santa but is this a general suggestion or do you know of something specifically wrong with these two apps and the 411s? I was running NeroExpress with my last BenQ DVD 4x burner without issues. I will do as you suggest, but something tells me it is the OS that is broken. Anyone else have this problem?

Looking closer at your post count and title, you seem to be a man who knows this stuff. I will go find a copy and let you know how it works out.

The later versions of Nero 5.5 will indeed work with the 411S. But if your software was bundled with a drive, unless it was a LiteOn drive, it'll never see the 411 as a burner.

There is a CD/DVD Recorder update for InstantCD/DVD over at Pinnacle's site that includes support for the 411s:
