Plextor 708A and Ritek 4x DVD-R

Postby sickman on Tue Dec 30, 2003 8:16 pm

HI, I was wondering if anyone has tested Ritek 4X DVD-R with the PLextor 708a. I need to know if it works ok, I heard of people having problems with RItek and the new Plextor. Were the burns good, did they play back in standalond dvd player, ps2, and/or xbox fine? Thanks.

All my burns on the RITEKG04 DVD-R 4x media with firmware 1.04 play great in everything I have tried them in (standalones, PC drives) they also burn extremely well. I'd highly recomend this media to anyone looking for good DVD-R media. Check out meritline, they have some good deals on it.

I'm not sure what you mean. Most people aren't having issues with Ritek and the 708A. I use Ridata 4X +R and -R exclusively, no issues here.

If they are having problems, it's because they are buying B grade rebranded Ritek discs. Ridata is A grade media.

Here's a couple places to buy if you're in the US.

Edit*
FYI Meritline has a special, price per disc is pretty cheap and it includes free ground shipping.

I still see meritline as being cheaper after totalling in shipping at supermediastore...

$4.80 cheaper at meritline over supermediastore for a 25 spindle.
