LG 4480B and Nero 5.5

Hi everyone,

I have just been supplied with a new PC which uses the LG 4480B combo drive. Nero 5.5 reports that 'current recorder cannot erase CD-RW'. I have successfully written to a CD-R, but when trying to write to a CD-RW all seemed to go well but no data was on the disc.

The PC was supplied with Nero Express installed but I changed this for my existing copy of Nero 5.5 - was this a mistake? Nero can't autodetect the drive; I've looked on the Nero website for an update but can't find anything.

The drive has firmware 1.0.

Any suggestions on how I can resolve this?

Welcome to CDRLabs!

Did your copy of Nero come with another burner? If it did, it probably won't work with your new drive, and you'll have to use the bundled version of Nero Express.
