I/OMagic 8x DVD±RW Drive - $99.99 @ OfficeMax

Postby Ian on Sat Dec 20, 2003 11:43 pm

This is for those that might have some post-Christmas money to spend. OfficeMax has I/OMagic's 8x DVD±RW drive on sale for $99.99 from 12/28/03 thru 1/3/04

http://www.officemax.com/max/solutions/ ... sp?bvc=yes

$179.99 - $30IR - $50MIR = $99.99

Just be careful if this is an I/OMagic rebate. They have been known to "lose" rebates.

That's a great price for the DD0401 (and just after I get one, too!) - assuming you actually get the rebate!

I think I paid $140 or so @ newegg for mine.

I wonder if IO Magic's bundle (ie, blanks, etc)/manual is better than Optorites...

Edit:
Well, the drive LOOKS better than the Optorite (I hate it's odd-shaped tray), and you actually get a blank disc. Software wise, it comes with:
WinDVD
Pinnacle Studio
Pinnacle InstantCD/DVD

I like the Optorites bundle better myself: Nero, PowerDVD, Sonic MyDVD.
Bet it has a better manual though! Optorites is only 1 page!

No mention of HD-BURN...odd.

The deal will be even better if Office Max has a $15 or $20 off coupon.

If the drive is available online (its not right now), you can use this $30 off $150 coupon:

http://www.officemax.com/special/letter1201

It expires 1/10/04
