This is quite astonishing.

I was walking through a promenade, entering a snazzy photography equipment store i usually command every now and then.
As i was looking around i saw a new batch of FujiFilm media.
I was already accustomed to the old FujiFilm media: Made by Fuji-Germany, certified 24X, 650MB and excellent quality burns (better than RiTEK at most cases).



So i'm taking a glimpse



And i'm thinking: "Nice, new 700MB FujiFilm."

Then i'm flipping it over



And i'm thinking: what the..? Cantonese?

Continue to examine



And then i glance at the CDR itself and i see:

Made In Japan

Bought some, of course.
The whole thing cost me about 0.68 dollars per disc.

But:
1. The only TYs i got before were TDK Ultra-Reflex and they are only 650MB. Also got one Sony CDR which was 700MB.
2. TDK's CDRs were more expensive (almost 9 buck for 10 pcs).

These are certified for 24X (Smart-Burn limit: 40X) and so I think that we are getting the leftovers here in Israel.

Yep, we get the older HP 24X which are TY too, here in India. Nice discs, burn well upto 40X. I'm stocking up

i once also found some very old Fuji. posted about them here somewhere (can't be bothered to find it).

the picture on the package looked a little like this:



but there's a lot of stuff written in Chinese or Japanese (can't tell them apart).
the back side of the package looks very like the back side in your picture.

it was a plastic box (kind of like the old flip-boxes for holding 5.25" disks) with 10 CDs in individual plasic enevelopes!
these were 700MB, 12x rated.

made in Japan, but not TY! made by Fuji!

are yours TY or Fuji?

incidentally, mine were purchased in Dyonon store in Tel Aviv University.
where did you buy yours?

strange that these old Fujis pop up every now and then in obscure places.

The Fuji i have are unquestionably TY.

I now what old Fuji you're talking about but i never had them.
But, if they are made in Japan Fuji CDRs they must be high quality material.

Dyonon bring the most eccentric CDRs (for good and bad) and usually over-price it.

Now that you mention it, I can almost see how one might envision a hint of a plus caused by the color contrasts. Either that or you've got some good stuff at home...

Fuji japan made media. How did it end up there. Since that one is really ment pure for the Japanese market ! I think that Japanese Fuji production has been halted these days.

NOw I won't make a comment about the + incident.
