Bulk packs of TDK Armor Plated discs?

Postby BurninMan921 on Tue Dec 09, 2003 7:16 pm

Anyone know where to find spindles/bulk packs of TDK's Armor Plated DVD discs? All I've been able to find are 5 packs of the -R's in jewel cases, and they're kinda expensive (>$20). DVD+R versions would be nice, too...

Hmm...I didn't know TDK actually made ANY media. Anyone know how good the -R's are?

TDK makes great media,if you're willing to pay the price they want.Usually $1.80 on sale.I get the same results with memorex + and -.You can catch them on sale for a $1 a piece at office max every 2 or 3 weeks. Most other places are $1.20 on sale.Fuji media doesn't do to bad either for a $1.20 a piece.I've used Fuji,Maxell,TDK and Memorex and no coasters yet.Anyway, here's a link to a dvd media site for reviews on certain dvd media and also who makes what brand media.

Just type in the brand you want to review in the "search dvd media" box
and wha-la!!!!

TDK TDK Armor Plated DVD-R 2x is made by TDK.
At least it states there MID code and they got at least one cd-r facotry so I think that they make there the dvd's to.
And is very good according to C't test results I posted earlier on this Forum.

I just bought a TDK 4x 15pk DVD+R spindle from Costco. Don't remember the price, 1.xx per disc - something like that. RICOHJPN01, works great at 8x on OptoRite DD0401.

Just FYI.

I just swapped some Verbatium 4x's for some of the TDK 4x's, the TDKs burn great in the DD0401! It doesn't like the Verbatium's too much - at 8x the burn time is very erratic (~11:30-15:30, 4.35GB/disc)). I just use 'em at 4x.

Now Target just needs to put 'em back on sale! They had 30 packs for $30 for awhile...

Too bad the +R Armor Plated discs aren't out yet...

I went to my local Best Buy to get that 50 pack of Memorex discs, but they had the -R's on sale not the +R's. I'll try to go to the other store tomorrow. Those have been good discs in the past, but I've not tried them in the Optorite yet.
