NEC 8x Writer ND-2500A in Japan

IO DATA DVR-ABN8 was first shown at a Tokyo shop for 22,799 Yen. The 8x writer is based on NEC's first 8x writer, ND-2500A.

The drive supports both 8x DVD+R and 8x DVD-R writing.

Too bad the CD burning speeds aren't very impressive.

Hm... I thought DRU-530A had not been released in Japan.

And I posted about it a week ago.

It seems most people have to wait at least till 2004 summer when more than 10 DVD-R manufacturers will have acquired enough experiences to make 8x DVD-R.

I'll just use 4x DVD+RW media if I have to. 4x DVD+RW media don't cost much more than 4x DVD-R, just a little over US$1.
