TDK Burner Frustrations

Postby joejoe on Sun Dec 07, 2003 1:42 pm

I just purchased the TDK IndiDVD 440n 4x2x12 Internal IDE DVD+/-R(W). Reads and writes all formats....supposedly. I have been able to burn data on the DVD-RW. I have been unsuccesful at burning any video with this burner. Not on DVD-R or DVD-RW.. not even on the TDK media packaged with the burner... Not with Nero, DVDXCOPy, burnatonce,... nothing. Each of them starts the burning process, takes several minutes while it says it is writing the first file and then errors out after about 7 or 8 minutes. I have tried several video files. I am sure the video files are okay because I burned them to a +RW on a different burner. Anyone have any suggestions? or should I just return the burner for the Pioneer A06 that everyone is saying is a very good burner?

hi joejoe, and welcome to CDRLabs! :D

hey, aren't you the same guy i helped out in the burnatonce forums ?? :)

sounds to me like you have a bad drive.
if you can return it and get the Pioneer A06, but all means do it!
the Pioneer is probably the best DVD writer just now, in terms of media compatibility and burning quality.
if i were you that's what i would do.
