Nutech 8X firmware in Benq DW800A???

Postby silencer on Tue Dec 02, 2003 12:45 am

As Nutech is not available in my country, I plan to purchase the new BenDW800A for its reasonable price performance. Is there any possibility to flash the nutech firmware in that drive??? Mind giving your advise here.

Thank You

I don't think its possible. While the DDW-081 uses Philips' Nexperia chipset, I don't think the drive design is the same as the BenQ.

Sigh ... needs to reconsider my buying decision again .... any opinion on this benq model??? It is cost as much as the 4X NEC in my country ... about US$80 ... is it a good a buy, or should i choose NEC for its multi format writing compatibility??? The pioneer and plextor model r not available here though.

From Malaysia ,,,, and I think it's an OEM version, backed with 1 year personal warranty, and the price will be further reduced for bulk purchasing ... That remind me to the "Fast and Furious" movie .. as they might hijack the goods ... :P

So ... is it a good drive???

US$80 is a very nice price for an 8X DVD burner right now!

Sorry, I don't know enough about the drive personally to be able to comment on its quality.
