When is 8X media coming? How much will it cost?

Thanks aviationwiz!

I did indeed miss that thread, but it looks like I didn't miss anything special pricewise, so I am glad I ordered (just before your reply and seeing the meritline prices) my 8X-capable 4X +R (less than half that price, including tax, NO rebates) before they sold out.

What disks did you get? I got 100 Fuji 4x DVD+R for just $0.95 a piece after a $15 rebate.

They were 84 cents each, plus 5 cents tax.
There was no rebate either; I have enough rebates now with the three purchases I made Black Friday (bought a lot less than last year).

5 rebates for 3 products!
At least I was down to only two outstanding, one of which has been mailed, and the other should be on the way.

I hesitated due to still having media and due to the arrival of true 8X media being right around the corner, but I decided hit the trigger anyway.
I figured I could always sell them if I really had/wanted to before getting 8X media.
Then when I saw your post about 8X already being out, I checked meritline's prices. At that point I knew I had made the right decision. :)

I saw Verbatim 4x DVD+RW in stock for the first time yesterday so with the usual lag maybe I will see those Verbatim 8x DVD+R in March or so...

Those look great! Although that DVD+RW alliance logo sure can make them look a little cooler then they really are, if you know what I mean :wink:
