So does this add the minus support they were hinting at adding about now? As far as I could tell there is no log of improvements there.

Looks like its for 8X DVD Media Support 40X CD-R media Support and some new write strategy descriptors for 8x media, still no -R but maybe later this month , keep your fingers crossed.

Well I can now burn at 40x on cds that would only do 32x before. DVDinfopro says no Mt. Rainier still so I guess not.

I used the new firmware, with my DD-061 after upgrading to a DDW-081 and burned 15 discs so far.


The memorex will burn at 8x, whereas my other non brand only 4
