Is Sony DRU-530A made by Accesstek (OptoRite)?

If that is true, then I can safely say right now that the PX-708A will top the DRU-530A.

I suppose this is true though, considering the 2MB Buffer, considering previous drives had an 8MB buffer.

P.S. after owning a sony, pioneer, plextor dvd burner

my top pick is the plextor with the pioneer dvr-106d very close behind, if it weren't for 8x dvd+r feature, id pick dvr-106d, eventhough i don't use dvd+r at all

That doesnt' mean its a rebadged Accesstek drive. It could just be manufactured in their factories. A lot of companies do that these days. It's much cheaper to do it in China.

you got a point there, like my 7-eleven cappicuno cups, its soooooo much cheaper to get em made in china, j/k haha :P

Probably so, but Plextor has a higher quality control than Optorite.
