Last time I flashed my drive with a firmware that wasn't "technically" supposed to go on it, I believe the procedure was:
1. Download firmware flasher
2. Download firmware flasher mod tool
3. run firmware flasher mod tool
4. run firmware flasher
I believe the current procedure is:
1. download generic firmware flasher
2. download appropriate firmware
3. run generic firmware flasher using appropriate firmware
The *ONLY* part that could be confusing is figuring out which liteON firmware to use, and someone here can easily tell you that with a little information about your drive.
