I used a Memorex/700mb@52x and burned some music (@52x as per Nero6). When I performed the Nero Cd Speed Test I noticed it started at 21.66x and when it got 30x started to spike downwards. At 32x it shot down to 18x then up again and so on. Is there something wrong. Sorry but could not copy and paste the graph. I'm new at this and am trying to learn as much as possible. 10x in advance.

It shouldn't slow down like that on a good disc.

Try doing a scan with the quality test in CD-Speed. Since you have a LiteOn, turn on the C1-reporting and you should get an indication of possible C1-errors. If there are too many, the drive may slow down during reading. That is an indication that the disc is at least questionable. Alternatives then are:
- lower burning speed
- different media
