CyberDrive 8x DVD+R/RW Drive

I've found some references to an 8x DVD+RW drive called the DX082D. This could be it.

Ian, I see you highlighted the 8mb internal buffer, does this mean that if it does the same as the ohers the 8mb is better to have?

Ian highlighted the "8 Meg Buffer" I suspect because initially, everybody showed so much interest in why no dvd burner had this when many cd burners did.

I think we have however, through the thousands of burns that all of the the CDRLabs members have done, and through the argument that at 8X burning an 8 Meg buffer would be flushed in under a second if there was a buffer underrun just like a 2Meg buffer, proven that this aspect of DVD burning is not near as important as it would appear.

As BMR said.. it's not that big of a difference. I highlighted it because its one of the few drives I've seen so far with that feature.

It was just a simple question. Since, most of you, know so much about CDRs and DVDs that I figured asking would clear-up my ignorance about the subject. Maybe the question was too redundant for BMR.

Not redundant, but more a matter of clearing up a perception by some ( including myself initially ) that the 8meg buffer would make any difference as opposed to the 2meg buffer. Certainly, we discuss all issues about DVD's to all members in this forum in a positive manner. However, this is a point that has been discussed many times in a cycle that seems to reoccur every 3-4 weeks. I sometimes forget that new members join all the time.
