DVD Writer install Question

Postby agamemnon on Fri Nov 07, 2003 4:28 am

I want to install my new dvd writer (LG GSA 4040B), and I am setup like so:Primary IDE- Master-maxtor hard drive. Secondary IDE- Master-Pioneer DVD cd-rom 117R. Slave- HL DT ST CD-RW GCE 8160.

My question is can I install the new dvd drive in place of the Pioneer dvd cd-rom?

Thanks

Yes. However, the performance might suffer if you're doing a direct copie from your CD-RW to the DVD writer.

also, some drives, like my sony dru-500a, like to be the master on their own channel for best results. if you have any problems burning, i would recommend taking the slave off the dvd drive channel.
