Problem with 708A and ezcd6 (6.1.1.17)

Hello people, this is my first post.

I just bought a plextor 708A (internal). I re-installed ezcd 6.0 just to make sure. (put update 6.1.1.17)
I have winxp SP1.
The drive has firmware1.01.

I am trying to format a DVD+RW (memorex 4x) and everytime I try a quick or full format, drag to disk reports an error: it says an invalid command was sent to the drive. It gives me the same error when I try to format a CD-RW.

Drag to disk does say a blank disk is in the drive.

I would appreciate suggestions.

I may try: -
1 - upgrading to latest firmware (1.03)
2 - Trying nero 6 to see if I have similar problems.
3 - Do a drive self-test.

Besides those 3 options does anyone have suggestions?????

I believe Roxio just released even more updates; you might try them first.

If those updates don't help, updating the firmware would probably be the best thing to try.

If the firmware doesn't help, try another disc (preferably another brand). Sometimes, a drive will have trouble writing a particular kind of disc.
