Your view on this version of InCD

Postby Albinoni on Wed Oct 29, 2003 1:02 pm

I've just updated to InCD Ver 4.0.5.6, and just like to get your opinion on this version of InCD, compared to the previous versions.

I have never bothered with incd as I could never get it to work, tried again with the latest version, installs fine even get the tray icon.

Format a disk MRW all okay so far drag and drop a file - great can view the file on the disk using everything.

Then I try to eject the disk and I get the wait dialogue and incd happily deletes the files on the disk and adds the eazywrite program even though it's already installed.

Does this everytime no matter how I format I whatever I do.

So like before I've removed it again.

That sounds very strange, I've used also the previous versionsof InCD and never encountered any problems with it, also installed the latest version yesterday and it worked fine.

Have you tried to use a differnt brand media, I just cant see why its working for me and not you.

Also what OS are you using and what burner ?

Hi guys,
I too didnt have luck with InCD onmmy system. For packet writing I go with DirectCD/Drag-To-Disc and it works beautifully for me.Never got problems with it.It happens that when the software environment changes some software works better than others.Like Roxio has troubled many users here, but I have been using Roxio/Adaptec since version 3 without any problems.Nero too works without any problems on my system, except InCD,any version.
See ya guys later,

4.0.5.6 still has the infamous Word file bug.
Try the recently released 4.0.7.2.

Just found my solution to InCd.........

It's called DropToCD from http://www.sateira.com/ it also works for DVD data.

It's not packet writing very small 1 MB costs about $20.00US and a demo is available - enough of the free plug.

Being using for the past 2 days and purchased it, very quick has it's own aspi layer built in and has a 'basket' icon that allows you to drop files on it from anywhere and burn with lots of features.

worth checking out.

Does DropToCD coexist with InCD or does InCD need to be removed? InCD 3.5.24 is giving me no real problems on my Win2K rigs, but just in case.

Thanks,

I don't have InCD installed but can't see why it would conflict as it's not packet writing.

My Nero 6 installation has not complained about DropToCD :-?

Thanks very much. :)

Having been badly burned by CDRW driver conflicts in the past, I'm pretty cautious about these things.

Because packet writing softwares are all based on UDF, thus "plug" in the OS as read-write UDF filesystem, installing multiple of them on the computer will result on unpredictable behavior, or more precisely, that either one take the control and always mount inserted medias (then the second is not usefull to your system), or it will be one then the other randomly mounting the media, or even worst, none of them will mount them.

Thus, if you want to use DropToCD I suggest to first de-install InCD. (I don't DropToCD much - is it a packet writing software?)

If that was a question then no it is not packet writing but what I have found is it is very fast and writes in the background with virtually no resource use.

give it a try.
