Plextor PX-708UF and PX-708A Black Bezel in Japan

Plextor PX-708UF/JP was found in Akihabara stores accordig to Impress Akiba Hotline. PC-Success sells them for 31,800 Japanese Yen (about 260 USD) for unit. The PX-708UF is based on Plextor PX-708A 8x DVD+R writer which can write to DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-R, and CD-RW media.

Also, Plextor PX-708A Black Bezel drive was found for 27,800 Yen (about 230 USD).

Last week I decided to get the PX-708A but wanted to know if Plextor made a black front bezel version. I e-mailed them about it and they responded that they do make a black version - PX-708A/SW-BL. I checked the US website and its not listed but it is listed on the European website ( http://www.plextor.be/english/products/PX708A.html ). So I ordered it at a local computer store and I'm hoping to get it in about 3 days. It's $350 Can. (Now I'll be able to watch DVDs....Wahoo!)

I have a black one and im in Canada. The store I bought it from had both in stock. Dont know about the US but I figure since I have one its likely they are available everywhere in North America.

I was wondering if anyone knew where to find the plextor 708UF in South Korea. I see Kennyshin in Inchon, I'm in Daegu, any ideas would be appriciated. Thanks

Plextor PX-708UF was already imported in South Korea but too expensive even for enthusiasts like me. Around 500,000 Won.

You can order either from Data2000 or Hansung C&C (not sure whether Data2000 has them.)

Order from an Akihabara shop by any means available, and save 200,000 Won.
