To this day, it still looks more modern than any other commercial aircraft...
Interesting timing for this post:
On the way home tonight, I read an article in today's NY Daily News that stated how many serious problems Concorde airfcraft have had (including a plunge of 27,000 feet in one instance and parts falling off on other occasions! I am not making this up). This was at least partly because of the age of the planes, the article stated.
The author discussed some serious problems, even AFTER the overhauls were completed after the deadly crash several years ago.
The point of the article, written by a politician on the aviation subcommittee, was that it is a good thing that the Concorde was being grounded. His words, not mine.
Apparently flight occupancy rates have dropped to about 20% lately!
My parents took a Concorde flight years ago.
They brought back nice souvenirs for the kids, including sterling silver Concordes (the size of pins or broches) and nice blue slippers.
