Believe it or not, Arnold is a smart dude. I'm not a Republican, but I'd probably vote for him. The only thing that sucks is we'll probably never see him in another movie.

Absolutely, we gotta' get that a-hole outta' there! What do you think it will cost me when the tax comes due for my Jeep?

Hopefully, Arnold will tell us what his policies will be. So far, it's been mostly feel-goods, although, he has said that he will rescind the tripling of the car tax.

Arnold has my vote.
He is a smart person (as Ian mentioned) and I believe he has the
CA population's best interests (and not his own) in mind.

I agree with VEFF. He's not a dumb bodybuilder/actor. Besides, the "typical" run of politician mentality might be the problem...time to try some new blood with new perspective. On the other hand, Rob Lowe "gathering" support of the other stars to back Arnold is cheesy. I mean, if you're going to vote for someone, don't do it because the popular people are doing it. Influence The People with your ideas and ideals. Terminate Rob Lowe and things will be fine. However, if Arnold uses a bunch of lines from his movies in his campaign, sure, cap him.

Just remember, he has some HEAVY Kennedy connections through his wife's family.

I'm not up on US politics, but I think the Kennedy clan are Democrats & Arnold is a Republican so I'm not sure if the advice would lead him astray.

Let's see how he does, now that he has been elected...

It is still amazing that in the biggest state in the biggest country in the World, the governor has never held office before; I guess that is how frustrated Californians (or should I say "Kahlifawnians") were with Gray Davis.

there's a first time for everyone (and everything).

now we'll see if he's as good at governring as at dodging questions and issues (on that last count, he appears to be a competent politician at least).

a Statesman is a dead Politician.

Yes, unfortunately (regarding him being good at dodging questions and issues).
I was hoping he would be different than most other politicians in that regard...

I am proud to say, that Minnesota is no longer the dumbest state in the US. California now is. Minnesota runs fairly far behind in 2nd place.

Oh, you have Jesse (The Body) Ventura right?
I honestly haven't paid attention to his performance or track record since he entered political office.

Nope, he's gone now. New governor is Tim Pawlentey.

We also elected Norm Coleman for Senator over Walter Mondale. Shit, damn voters, should have put in Mondale.

That reminds me... my father's family supports DJ and my wife's family hates him. But Democrats and Republicans in the US federal politics don't spend billions to bribe voters with money from jaebols?

Just a week ago, my father-in-law, a retired professor with six degrees and proficient in six languages at least, called the present South Korean president Roh Mu-Hyun michin-nom in front of us. He genuinely and deeply distrusts and hates him, like most other intellectuals and GyungSangDo-Min of South Korea, another nation-state with no future.

I know some people who live in CA, and they just couldn't wait to vote Gray Davis out of office. From what I've heard about him, I'm not surprised.
