When I burn my Melody 24x CD-RW made by InfoDisc, it burns completely 100% through.... and it isn't until I run K-Probe (haven't tried Q-Check) before I see the massive amounts of C2 errors. I would not consider this no errors personally, although about 90% of the disc is salvegable.

When I said "no errors" it meant that newly written CDRW was working fine with all files copied. I'm not some kind of an idiot to use error tools for those who throw their CDRs under train and then they find some errors later.

Well, I can tell you something. Even with the new firmware on my Plexi I'm not able to burn the discs... Glad I return most of them.. Only got 1 left... Now with the latest firmware It does burn, but it doesn't read back...

Well, the media sucks anyway.. I'd rather use my Sony 10x.. Takes 5-8 minutes but it doesn'0t report a sinhle problem...

Actually, this media holds my personal record for the most errors ever, at over 7 million C1 and 5 million C2.

ASUS burner is obviously superior to crappy Plextor burner. Buy Asus so you can use more media. I don't see the point in using error tools if you do not experience any problems. Verbatim can't be found in most US stores so it is not an option for me although I'm sure that Verbatim CDRWs are good.

1. It's been well proven that Plextor is much better than Asus, but that is your opinion, so fine.

2. I can't even find a store that DOESN'T carry Verbatim CD-R/RW's in USA stores, so I don't know where you live.

I have not seen any Verbatim high speeds at all in stores. All I have seen is the crappy Memorex discs. On a more positive note my Samsung 352 has actually been doing readable burns with the new firmware T807. Not that I am saying buy those discs at all as they are horrible. My LiteOn and Sony wont burn them at all.

I don't believe the Verbatim has released their 32x CD-RWs yet. A lot of people are waiting for this media to be released. It's supposed to be released sometime in October.

That's right. Verbatim Europe released a press statement about making them available in October. I haven't seen any yet here in the Netherlands.

Somehow they have removed that press info from their website. Now it only states that soon some information will be reveiled here.

They are available to some... but only a lucky few. You can expect them to be available in stores soon though, maybe this month if we're lucky.

You can check out reviews for both burners here on CDRLabs.com and hardly that Plextor is much better drive. Lousy software, media compatibility, limited number of rewriting speeds, poor CDA extraction and high price are lows for Plextor.

The PX-W5224TA didn't do as well as some of the other drives we've looked at lately. While none of the sectors on the disc were unreadable, the drive considered 71.09% of the CD to be "damaged".

Asus lows and low price are much more acceptable. Recent firmware updates improved this drive a lot.

And you forget to tell su the name of a single US store where we can purcahse Verbatim 32x CDRW that you bought them monts ago.

Infodisc atip code is know used also by some third parties.
At leas MAM-E (CSI/MITSUI) uses it for there cd-rw's.
I wonder if they bought the technology or just used the atip /bought the stampers since it's matched there dye.
Or mitsui france imported to much of our Dutch Green Stuff these days which made them make them get this weird idea.

as far as I know,
neither CSI nor Mitsui has ever produced CD-RW discs.

Some more great pics, of Memorex Ultra-Speed CD-RW performing (bought two of those), both burned at 16 - 24x was even worse. Had to cancel Kprobe for second one, cause it just wouldnt finish due to errors:

As you see all 3 images have increased error count at the end of cd. To rule-out possibility of me having a bad burner, I burned same Verbatim disc on my LDW-811S (also 24x):



Same story as you see - only much more errors reported this time. If it's my dvd burner writing cd-rws worse, or my cd burner misreporting errors I don't know. Here is same burn scanned using dvd burner:

no, Memorex is just to stupid to know any better. The real fault lies with Infodisc, who manufactures these craptacular discs!
