The LDW-401S can rip single layer discs at 12x and dual layer at 8x. I'm guessing the LDW-411S will be the same.

I have not tried ripping PS2 or XBox games with it yet, so I really don't know.

You're asking the wrong person. I've backed up a few movies using DVDShrink and I could never tell the difference between the original and the copy.

I don't know anything about copying protected discs so I can't offer any info on that. DVD Backup quality depends on many factors including the software that you use, and the compression that you choose.

PS2 games can be backed up just using your computer, using Alcohol software I believe. You will of course need a mod-chip to play the burned games. Do a google search.

For Xbox, you will, once again need a mod-chip, and what you do is rip the game to your Xbox HDD and then transfer it to your computer over your network.
