LG 4040B Burn Time using DVD-RAM

Postby BMR on Mon Sep 15, 2003 12:30 pm

using the enclosed 3X DVD-RAM disk that came with the LG drive, I burned a 3.5GB movie onto the disk using NERO 6.00.15 at 3X.

The process took 35min and the disk could not be read as a movie disk
by the drive afterward, nor could an APEX 1225 unit read the disk, but the individual .vob files could be played.

Why so slow on the write time ???

Can you make a movie DVD with a RAM disk ??

That does seem a little high for a 3.5GB movie. Are you using DVD-RAM media rated at 3x?

In any case, I have noticed that the writing times with RAM are a little slower than when using say DVD-RW or DVD+RW.
