And for those of us who don't speak Korean:

The LDW-411S 2MB the buffer and 120ms supports a access time, the external form portion with the existing light all product is similar. Will be on duty and the software which is provided Power Dvd XP 4.0 and the Sonic MyDVD which is a Dvd editing software will be provided, 4 attachments ley the nose ting it is a plan where the support DVD+R media and the DVD+RW media will each be provided 1 chapter in the media which will be on duty, the time and the price which it will dance still are suspense.

I don't quite understand that translation, but it looks like another Plus only drive, writing and re-writing at 4x. CD-R at 40x, and CD-RW at 24x.

Is that right?

Another one? I thought the LDW-401D was a dual format...

Any of these capable of 8x writing on either format?

The LDW-401D doesn't actually exist. The LDW-400D was based on Sony's DRU-500AX. This is Lite-ON's own design. It is not an 8x burner.

So then what happened to the LDW-401D? I remember hearing about it.

BTW, I hate it when people say it's 'based on' whatever drive. IT IS THAT DRIVE, it's not based on it. If it were just based on it, it would have some different specifications hardware wise.

The name LDW-401D was just speculation.

I say "based on" because it is not named "Sony DRU-500A"...

I wonder if the 411S will be good at doing Minus. I remember hearing a while ago that Lite-On was having trouble getting Minus to work properly. Does this mean 401S owners won't be able to flash to 401D/411S?

Here we go, I found it on cdfreaks.

Will someone do PI/PO tests on this writer when they get it. To be honest, I have only seen under a half dozen PI/PO tests not done by me on these forums.

The drive was delayed until they got DVD-R/RW working. It sounds like they have.

They take so darn long!

The reason most people aren't doing any PI/PO tests on discs burned is because most people don't have a LiteON DVD Burner yet. And most people, including myself, are QUITE skeptical about the results from a PI/PO scan done on a DVD-ROM only. I have seen *no* proof whatsoever that these scans are accurate to any degree... and I HAVE seen some information that leads me to believe that scans done on DVD-ROMs are pretty much useless.

But the fact remains however that we don't even know if the DVD-Writer by LiteON will be accurate in testing burned DVDs either! So we will have to wait for C't to do a comparison to the AudioDev systems before we REALLY know what we're seeing!

Umm, my LTD-163D better be dispalying accurate results. That's the only reason why I keep it around.
