Has anyone successfully gotten this drive to work in Linux? Specifically Redhat 8.0?

Thanks,

Fred

Got it working actually

I finally figured it out. I read the cd-recording-how-to but it was not very clear. Maybe I did not get far enough down to see the place where it tells you to modify the grub.conf file. Maybe it does not tell you because it wants to do it through fsck or something. Maybe because there is the lilo loader or whatever. However, I figured out how to do the scsi-ide switch in the grub.conf file. I added a few other lines in my modules.conf file. I don't know if they helped or not. From there, I could do the cdrecord -scanbus and saw the drive. After that it was pretty easy to record a ISO. Thanks for the help. It always seems like when I ask help I find the answer soon after one way or the other. Now on to converting AVI files and burning to SVCD video! Woohoo!

Thanks,

Fred
