XP and WIN 2K not detecting my DVD burner.

Good day,
As title mentions, I'm having some detecting issues with my dvd burner (LS GSA-4040B). It detects it as a regular cdr-rw burner only. In XP, i've disabled the built in burning features. I've added the ASPI drivers. Nothing. To add, I've tested the drive on my friends W2K system, and it worked fine with Alcohol 120%, but not with Nero 5.5.

I've searched everywhere if there are any additiional driveres, and other users have had no issues like myself to need any other drivers.

Please,,,any suggestions would greatly appreciated. If i don't resove this, I'm stuck with a expensive cdr-rw.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. Are you trying to burn a DVD through windows? Are you trying to use the RAM disc? What are you trying to do?

The burner is too new for Nero 5.5. You need Nero 6.

thanks for the tip. updated it to Nero 6, and it worked like a charm.

HOWEVER,,,,updated to the newest Alcohol 120% too and no luck there. Their site says it should support my drive. I guess i'll have to contact them and see what they say.
