Lossless linking technology and DVD+

Postby Natale on Thu Sep 11, 2003 6:29 am

If the lossless linking technology is applied only to DVD+RW which is the really difference between a DVD-R and a DVD+R ? Why people are telling that a movie recordered on a DVD+ is better then recordered on a DVD-R?
Can someone explain please ?
Lossless Linking technology which only DVD+RW has; It keeps the gap between data within 1 micron meter when adding/editing. High Frequency Wobbled Groove defined in DVD+RW Standard makes precise positioning possible

I think “tazdevl” has to read better my questions before answering with ridiculous links that do not solve the questions I submited.
So I submit the question directly to you , certain of a complete answer.
Questions:
- Is lossless linking technology applied to DVD+R ? Please mention the source.
- DVD+R are better for Video recording then DVD-R?. Please mention the source
- Is lossless technology applied when you write items on DVD+RW ( also multisession) and/or is also applied when making a DVD movie?
Waiting for an answer

Lossless Linking Technology only applies to DVD+RW:
"Lossless Linking technology
Pre-recorded DVD-ROM/DVD-Video discs have data recorded contiguously without gaps in between. Rewritable DVD discs are expected to have the same manner in order to keep themselves compatible with DVD-ROM drives and DVD-Video players. This distinctive Lossless Linking technology keeps the gap between data within 1 micron when data is adding/editing. High Frequency Wobbled Groove* that is defined in DVD+RW Standard makes precise positioning possible. DVD+RW discs, therefore, maintain high compatibility with DVD-ROM drives and DVD players, even data is added or edited.
*High Frequency Wobble Groove: Recording groove arranged that wobbles 37 times as finely as CDs. "
