hey everyone just wondering if anyone can suggest what speed to use for burning cds to avoid skips when listening to cd. Im using the LT52327s with the fuji media (48). Also i wanted to mention that I have an HP pavilion with amd k6-2 /333 mhz. 256mb ram 80gig HD. I was thinking of using 24x as the speed for writing is that too slow? LT is cable of 52x but im not sure if my system can handle that or if that even matters. thanks guys.

16x is a good choice for burning audio CD's.

I like to use 32x or below for audio cd's.

I burn all of my CDs as fast as the burner allows (if the quality is good); I've never found that to be a problem.

Given the 7S drive and TY media, there's no reason not to burn at 40x to 48x. Even 52x should produce very good quality audio discs, (better than manufactured discs). If a disc skips in a player, the problem is more likely to be due to the media/player combination rather than the burn speed. Burning slower than 24x will likely produce lower quality, not higher.

16x is usually safe for most media, although *SOME* media require much faster or slower speeds. But generally I use 16x if I'm uncertain about how the media will react, since most of my reviews have shown 16x to be a sort of "happy medium"
