Have just purchased a Lite-On LDW-401S but unfortunately I cannot write DVD+RW's to work on my ageing Sony DVP-S525D home DVD Player, no matter what I have tried. (DVD+R works fine).
I am therefore considering swapping it for a Sony DW-U14A that I have found rediculously cheap so that I can experiment a bit with re-writeables and give the DVD-RW format a try on my home player whilst retaining the flexibility of the DVD+RW format (and x4 speed) for data backups.
My only concern in buying the DW-U14A with it being an OEM version is firmware upgrades.
Has anyone actually managed to upgrade the firmware on this drive with the DRU-510 firmware? If so can you put me in contact with them or refer me to a good website.
