Can't durn dvd data disc using nero 5 or 6 with optorite

Postby nansenng on Mon Sep 01, 2003 8:26 pm

I've been trying to backup my divx and ogm files on dvd-r, and so far with two different versions of nero (5.5.10.35 or 6.0.0.11) and I get the same results when making a dvd-rom iso. The burn goes through fine with no problems ( and I have tried 1x and 2x on princos), but when I try to read the dvdr, my regular dvd drive tells me it is an audio disc. However, I can see the files just fine on the optorite and my pioneer a05.

From comparing discs burned from my a05, it appears that these weird discs have the File System listed as cdfs, while the ao5 dvdr's are in udf format. I can't blame nero for the problem b/c I have tried two versions already. Is there something wrong with my setup (Win2k sp2) or has anyone encountered this strange problem?

Ok, with further investigation...I have found that no matter what software or brand of dvd I use to burn a dvd data disc, the final burned dvd is in the cdfs file system format. Can someone tell me what file system their dvd data disc is after burning? Thanks.
