backup win2k pro??

I am using W2K pro and routinely backup my C drive and system state onto a second internal hard drive.

I have a "Backing up Windows XP/2000" article and several other W2k forums on the web.

Some people say that if you create a backup *.bkf file greater than 2MB it somehow gets corrupted and becomes useless on a restore. Some say use this http://www.e-tech.ca/012-BKFrecovery.asp and others say use http://www.softnews.ro/public/cat/12/5/12-5-25.shtml this free ERUNT program to backup the w2k registry.

Then I saw a tip "What is the System State in Backup?" Which I backup routinely so this will backup the registry. So now all this info condradicts itself. Why would you need to use this free ERUNT program?

I cannot find any info on the web that states a *.bkf file becomes corrupted when it becomes larger than 2MB's?

I also routinely backup "My documents" onto a CDR using NERO multisession backup with linked files.

Should I actually be backing up the ENTIRE administrator folder? Is there other items in there that are necessary? I know favorites are there but what else should I routinely burn to CD?

Is it better to use Norton Ghost 2003 for a backup instead?

Image your hard drive periodically with Norton Ghost.

Back up you data only more frequently.

Example:

I ghost my hard drive once I'm happy with the stability of all the software. I ghost it again before I install some new software, say Nero 6.0. So I ghost about once every 6-9 months.

I back up my data every 2-4 weeks to CD-R, depending on how much change has occurred.

I back up my data from one PC to another every day or every other day.

This system works fantastic, and you don't have to worry about the ERU and other junk...

Ghost recently saved my a$$ big time.
TIP: make the image bootable (it's an option when you make the image).
Or at least make a Ghost Boot Floppy to work from.

Remember, DOS does not see a NTFS formatted drive/partition...
