Thanks Wizard! You saved me some work :)

I didn't get any damaged sectors, that's right yes. All discs were burned as DAO.

I have also tested Plextor Premium at 52x selection (but using PoweRec, which really lowers the writing speed almost always unlike LiteOn's SmartBurn).

I could post those results here as well, if people are interested.

This disc passed Nero's verification process, and actually scores VERY well in K-Probe when tested at lower speeds. No C2 errors are reported by other software (k-probe/cd doctor)

I burned two other discs at 40x, you can see their results (very similar) here:

This disc failed Nero's verification and has massive amounts of C2 errors and skipped sectors when checked with K-Probe.

If anyone's interested, burning these discs at 32x produces 100% green scans :wink:

if i might make a small suggestion:
for scans that get 100% green in CDSpeed, why don't you just write that instead of posting a 100% green snapshot?

easier on dial-up users, and less work for you!

to be honest, when i wrote the post i had thought first of you - saving you all that tiring work of taking a snapshot, editing (cropping) it, uploading it to the server...and all for why? it's all green!

dial-up users that's a thought that came after (although i'm not on dialup anymore

Yeah, I know :)

But last time I didn't save them and I couldn't remember anymore if the last block was yellow or not on some scans. So this time I went a little overboard and decided to save EVERYTHING :)

Okay,for you guys worrying about the manufacturer of the Taiwan Fuji CDRs, here goes:

I've got a 100 pack of those Fujifilm CD-Rs Made in Taiwan. They are made by Prodisc. I tested one CD-R @ 48x burn and it came out with no errors - I used Nero CD Speed for the burning and reading.

Sure we do.
It comed with TDK's RELEX-ULTRA X Media (Cert. 16X and 24X).

Also some SONY CDrs are made by TY.

The Fuji's CDrs which we have around here are made by Fuji themselves and so it he quality...

But my "weapon of choice" would have to be Ritek: I had Kprobe scans with 0.05 C1 Errors which is as close as it gets to TY (Approx. 0.047). Being a cheaper buy, it is obvious why i'd generally rather burn Ritek.

i would say the opposite: we don't. or: we hardly do.

yeah, there are a few lucky shots, Harrier mentioned them.
but they're hit and miss.

most Sony CDRs aren't TY, only some 24x are.
and one particular flavor of TDK has turned out to be TY, that's 24x (i haven't seen 16x, maybe Harrier has). and not all of the 24x TDKs either.
no other TY as far as i know.

by the way all these TYs are in singles (in jewel cases), none in spindles.

anyway this is all antiquated media and is on the way out...soon it will be gone and then what?

Fuji media here is like the Fuji in Europe - made by Fuji.

Ah well, Harrier and dodecahedron, atleast you get SOME TY media there. Here, the only TY media I could find was some OLD HP 16X stuff. Burnt well @ 40X though!
Otherwise MBI and Verbatim DLP cds are available here, and they are pretty good.

Those 16x HP's are made by TY and on my systems consistenly burn with c1 errors less than 0.050, yes thats right very low error rates. Written and read with a rebadged Ltr-48246 at the max speed of 40x. The Fuji 48x TY don't seem to burn that good.
