Can Optorite HD-Burn disc be read w/ DVD-Rom or DVD Player?

To those that successfully written HD-Burn discs, are you able to read these discs on a DVD-Rom or stand alone DVD player? Or can you only read them off the original drive?

I'm on the verge of purchasing the Optorite and LVD-2001 DVD player, b/c I want to create 1.4GB VCDs and DivX discs. But I want to know if the HD-Burn discs can read off anything besides the Optorite.

can't. only readable by Sanyo or any HD capable drives( i am afraid only Sanyo drives)

Thanks for the reply. Reading the Sanyo FAQ's, they say it's "possible" for a DVD player to read it. http://www.digital-sanyo.com/BURN-Proof/HD-BURN/hd-faq.html#6
But that assumes the player supports HD-Burn technology, which I haven't seen any manufacturer do yet. I hope it happpens b/c Sanyo claims HD-Burn disc are compatible with DVD and VCD format.

I thought I read someone claim his DVD-Rom could read a HD-Burn disc.

I wrote Lite-on hoping they would support HD-burn, but this is the short respone I got:

Sorry Sir, our LVD-2001 does not support HD-burn disc

Not satisfied, I wrote Optirite. [I wrote to Sanyo a while back, but they would only talk to me if I'm an OEM manufacturer.]

HD-BURN is a brand new technology that is why no other manufacturers support it yet. I know Sanyo is currently working with many DVD manufacturers to license this technology. Hopefully there will be more devices on the market supporting HD-BURN in the next few months.
