Memorex Printable CD-R's

Postby aviationwiz on Tue Jul 01, 2003 4:43 pm

I just read the latest news post about the Memorex Printable CD-R's. It says in there: "affordable ink jet printers"

when they say that, do they mean CD Printers? Because I know those cost a fortune.

Check out the Epson 900. For $200 you can print to paper and CD's.

Not a bad price for a CD Printer. To bad for me, it's $200 to much. I think I'll continue to use labels and Sharpy Pens. That way, I can still use my Verbatim and Fuji disks.

Printable CD-R's only make sense if you have a band, a recording studio or a small software company. I have seen several inkjet printed CD-Rs and they do look very professional. Most people wont be able to tell if they are homemade or not.

I bet the Memorex printable CD-R's will proably be made by CMC. I wish Memorex would use Tayio Uden, or even Prodisc and Ritek more often instead of CMC.

Many of the "gimmick" CD-Rs avaliable (different color dyes and sizes) are made by Tiawanese companies like CMC. The TDK American flag CD-R's that are on sale this week at Best Buy are made by CMC.
