Intresting Vari-Rec Results

I obtained some rather intresting Vari-Rec Results when using Verbatim 48x CD's.

I used the Azo writing option, as the disks are named "Super Azo"

The Beta results look OK, The Jitter looks terrible though.

Weird results. What happens if you use the default option?

What's what, the writing option or the name of the disks?

I used the Azo Writing Mode/Option. The disks are Verbatim 48x Super Azo DataLifePlus.

i meant, what's the "Azo writing option"?
this is an option in PlexTools?
which part of it? what's it for ?

It's in the VariRec setting, there is an Azo Writing Option.

my older Plex 40x doesn't have this sub-feature in its older VariRec.
must have forgotton about this from the Premium's review.

nice screen shot aviationwix, any idea what the different settings for phthalocyanine are/mean??

I have absolutely no idea what they mean. I would assume it has something to do with the type of dye on the disk. Maybe there are different variations of phthalocyanine? Or, maybe the drive can tell a difference between older and newer phthalocyanine based media?

well, phthalocyanine has gone through several advancements since its' first creation, but the same is true for Azo, and especially cyanine as well. And I believe there are SIGNIFICANT differences between Super Azo, and Metal Azo, so much so that some drives which can burn Super Azo fine, cannot burn Metal Azo that well... so why break it up for Phthalocyanine?? too bad there isn't a plextor official who frequents this forum :(

no info about it in the PlexTools help/manual.
Depending on the dye type of your media, you can change the Recording Strategy accordingly. (for more information on the dye type of your media, please contact the manufacturer of the media)
