Expensive though if that's the per disc price... $8.30.

why does it say "for data" ?
is there a difference between a DVD+RW disc for data and for video?

No, of course, but the coating (not the recording side) is a little different. Marketing. Sometimes media for video cost a little more but they are identical otherwise.

Yep, but it's possibly only because there were very few shops. Ricoh itself announced their 4x DVD+RW price to be far under US$8.

Verbatim's 4x DVD+RW media should be out soon too. I have a few pieces of it and it works well with the DRU-510A.

do these venders just send you this stuff for review/keeps? Or do you have to acttually go out and buy these DVD-RW/+RW and then return them after you review them

Verbatim sent this media for me for this Sony review. It's in very short supply so I have to give it back to them.

Yes, they send us products to review. The only thing I go out and buy these days is media... by the truckload.

Ian, have a 510 and noticed something interesting. Not sure if it's related to a couple bad batches of media, but I've gotten a host of CRC errors using both Nero and RecordNow with Fuji and Verbatim +RW Media. Any chance of you testing more than 1 kind of RW media?

Sure, I have a bunch of Sony DVD+RW media too.

btw.. have you had any luck with InCD 3? I tried the latest build of verison 3 and it doesn't support the drive. I had to go to InCD 4.

Not yet. I actually just returned my drive and ordered a 510UL from outpost.com $299 after MIR. Will try when the new drive shows up.

Ian have the gang @ Verbatim given you any indication of when we might be seeing 4X +RW on the market?

Sounds like a lot of folks have qualified, but have yet to get stuff in the channel.
