external CD-RW on NT4 laptops

Postby Schulzefan on Sat Jun 28, 2003 6:26 am

Since my boss won't give me a new laptop I have been looking for a new external CD-RWs for my old Armada 1750 laptop but none seems to be compatible with NT4. Is this true? If not, isn't Nero+USB1.1 sufficient to burn on a NT4 laptop?

Thanks, Peter Gullberg

The problem is NT 4 doesn't officially support USB of any kind. Some companies made drivers for certain kinds of USB devices (I think Iomega was one, for external Zip drives) but AFAIK there's no universal USB driver for NT.

So you're probably stuck to finding a really old parallel port burner on Ebay or something. :/
