Firmware upgrade on a Ricoh MP5125/Memorex DVD+R/RW?

I just purchased a Memorex 2.4x DVD+RW burner. From what I've read it is the rebadged Ricoh MP5125. Is it possible to upgrade this firmware so it will be able to write on 4x media? Any help woudl be appreciated

The 1.51 firmware should let your drive write to 4x media (at only 2.4x of course).
