if someone was to give you whatever CDRW drive you wanted, wouldnt you choose the Premium??
dodecahedron wrote:it's funny, what with some people belittling Plextor for not being good drives but only a good reputation, and now (some of the same people?) are recommending a Lite-On drive that isn't out yet...how do you know it's going to be good? maybe because of the Lite-On reputation??? hmm...
dolphinius_rex wrote:dodecahedron: You forget, we HAVE seen results...or at least some of us have. You forget that Karr Wang used a 52327S drive for doing burning and testing with K-Probe on at a least a couple occasions. Unfortunatly, due to web hosting problems, all his pictures are now gone, but the proof remains: http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic. ... &start=150
Check out the second post on the page, and later Harrier comfirms it.
so ok, it ISN'T a review on the drive, but we DID have access to prerelease results
dodecahedron wrote:i, too, think the 52327S drive will be a very good drive, with excellent writing quality. and yes, i am fully aware that i make this statement based on my faith in the Lite-On reputation...(which is just the point i was making ).
's better than Plexy !

1. They both have excellent burn quality

pkkk wrote:3. Prem "does" have faster rewrite speed due to PCAV
pkkk wrote:4. Prem has Gigarec (like I said in my earlier post at 1.2X , its readability is better on different drives and sure saves you $ on 90min blanks)
pkkk wrote:5. Prem has Securec ( to back up and encrypt all your porn so your wives or husbands can see)
LiteOnGuy wrote:If I had the choice of any drive, I'd probably go for the 52327S due to Lite-On's track record with previous drives and Lite-On's lower prices.
I must admit that the Plex has some nice features that the Lite-On just doesn't have, but I don't think that I want them enough to pay that much for a drive.
I am not a Lite-On fanboy, but my opinion is that the Lite-On would be the best use of money for me. If you will use features like SecureRec and GigaRec, the Plex may be a better choice.
pkkk: I agree, the Plex is "a deluxe burner" while the Lite-On is more "basic". However, I don't need the "deluxe" features enough to pay $100 or more for a drive, when I can get Lite-On drives for so much less.
dolphinius_rex wrote:So you don't care about CD-R speeds but you DO care about CD-RW speeds? gotta be consistant buddy. Also the 52327S (which is the drive I said I would choose) is faster at re-writting, or at least it will be if 32x CD-RWs ever come outpkkk wrote:3. Prem "does" have faster rewrite speed due to PCAV

...I mean, what would happen if you forgot the password! There is no password recovery system, and writing it down sort of defeats the purpose.
