How do you have your drive hooked up? I was getting good ol' error -10 for a while, and it turned out the firewire case I was using was to blame. As soon as I changed the case for a different brand, it worked fine. Not saying that is your problem, but it's something to look at.

Otherwise, my guess would be media. Have you tried other brands with the exact same image? DVD+R / DVD-R? RW?

mine is DRU-500ax hooked thru IDE channel.

DVD-R is Vertex. i get this once in every 50 burns...
