cdrw and dma

please can anyone help is there a little program for windows xp where you can switch on and off the DMA on my harddrive and DVD roms and if so where to get it from.

Um, I think it's called Device Manager. System properties - hardware tab - device manager, look in the properties for the IDE controller.
