This burn for instance is 40X with DAO of a DIVX movie, three txt files and one installer file..
Though the burn came out Ok it annoys me because it takes about 5 minutes for such burn.

Good point, rdgrimes. I had forgotten about the possibility that the drive would limit the speed if poor media was used.
Known:
700,000KB = 700MB
150KB/sec = 1x CD Speed
Calculation:
700,000KB / 10min = 70,000KB/min
70,000KB/min / 60sec/min = 1166.666KB/sec
1166.666KB/sec / 150KB/sec = 7.7x speed
blakerwry wrote:How is that a good point? if the drive is limiting the speed then it's not really burning at 48x. If it takes 10 minutes to burn 700MB, then you're burning at ~8x average speed.
