Who created/selected the images for the avatar gallery?

Interesting images there. I was looking for a replacement avatar when my US flag link died...

Oh well, I ended up using the Optorite as my avatar. I hope Optorite doesn't mind, and won't take away their image anytime soon...

Those are just the defaults along with a few that people wanted to use.
