Postby nXt on Sat May 31, 2003 9:16 pm

Just ordered one, was wondering if anyone knew what the average DVD ripping speed is? Thanks

well That can't be. My liteon 163 DVDrom is 16x rated, and average rip of dvds at 5x (though i've seen it going 10x at 13megs per second)

Using the DVD Burner to rip will only shorten its life. I'd recommend using your Lite-ON to rip since it isn't quite as expensive as a burner.

DVD video is limited to 2x speed with the DRU-500A(X) and I doubt Sony has changed this on the DRU-510A.
