upgrade firmware khypermedia 48x24x48

At another forum, I saw that people were upgrading the firmware for this drive (original firmware c.xf I believe because there are 2 versions. the other starts with d.x...) to be able to run 52x24x52 with mt ranier. Has anyone here attempted it and how did it work.

I have the KHypermedia 48x24x48. It came with the firmware D.LC. I upgraded to D.UC, which is available at http://www.benq.com. It added Mt. Rainier support, and it didn't even carry the risk that overclocking carries. BTW, I have heard that it is possible to overclock this drive to 52x, but the speed difference is so small that I didn't even consider doing it.
