Lite-On LTD163 16x DVD-ROM media compatibility

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have this drive and know sth about media compatibility ?
I want to buy some media and don't know if my drive will read them. I don't have DVD burner myself so I haven't had a chance to test it yet,
-R are more popular, cheaper and I hear they are readable in more drives. How aobut +R. I can burn both formats (my friend has Sony DRU500AX). Liteon page states it can read DVD-R. What's your experience about it ???

I belive it will read everything but dvd ram media. Mine as worked pretty well for a couple of years or close now. I recently upgraded tp the 166s and I think it reads every format out for now. I also think it is a bit better drive then the older one but they're all good drives.

My LTD-163D plays everything I have thrown at it. Nero InfoTool says it will only do -R and -RW, although it does read +R and +RW. I have tried it out myself.

I had a chance to try out -R Esperanza x2 yesterday, it works pretty fine
Now I'll look for written +R,
