Postby ChrisX on Fri May 23, 2003 7:33 pm

I've just seen an amazing image of Earth with the moon from Mars. Wow!

What do you expect, the image is from space so far away, 86 million miles! I know this image is enlarged so many times due to the distance from Mars and this gets a little blurred.

You don't appreciate on what I am saying! Would you be able to view this on Mars and take this picture?

This is from San Francisco not from out in space, so you missed my point and don't appreciate it either.

Anyway, I've seen this picture before, only on Earth.

It's a nice picture, Chriscjgs, I appreciate it. Looking at Earth from another planet really puts us and our lives in perspective, doesn't it?

My only gripe about the photo, why did they have to put the words "EARTH" and "MOON" in large, blocky, white letters? It ruins the photo somewhat, and frankly, if you don't know that Earth is the blueish sphere then you need to go back to school.

I appreciate it, too! I think that it's neat that they could get both Earth and the Moon in the same pic! I've never seen something like that, before!

I do understand you, I really do. But my point is why waste millions of dollars and resources to take a picture of the earth from mars when we can use that money in something that the earth really needs it. I don't need to spend millions of dollars to realize how beautiful planet earth is and to realize my existence when there are many people needing that money and our own planet is being destructed. I do see the beauty in it but also see the irony in it.

PS: Sorry but NASA sometimes makes me mad.
